James Kustin, MD, Reproductive Endocrinologist and Infertility Specialist

Dr. Kustin, Reproductive Endocrinologist, Infertility Specialist has been in private practice in Bellevue, Washington for the last 17 years. Together with the scientific staff at the Washington Center for Reproductive Medicine infertility clinic, he has helped many couples achieve a much wanted pregnancy. He has successfully treated the most difficult and challenging cases of infertility and endometriosis creating many grateful patients.

James Kustin, MD was born in 1950 in Melbourne, Australia. He completed his medical degree in six years, at Monash University, and graduated at the age of 23. He then undertook an OB-GYN residency at the Royal Women's Hospital in Melbourne (affiliated with the University of Melbourne and the center where the World's second in vitro baby was born).

Completing his three year residency, Dr. Kustin moved to London where he worked at St. Mary's Hospital, a large teaching institution in the National Health Service. Dr. Kustin amassed a great deal of gynecological surgical experience during his three years in the United Kingdom.

He then relocated to the United States in order to pursue sub specialist training, and completed a two-year fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at the prestigious Northwestern University Medical Center in Chicago. This advanced training prepared him to treat the most complicated cases of infertility in both females and males.

Dr. Kustin completed his second fellowship in Reproductive Surgery at the Texas Hospital for Women (an affiliate of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas). This allowed him to become an expert in non invasive laser laparoscopic surgery for the correction of reproductive problems such as tubal disease, endometriosis, adhesions, fibroids, and ovarian cysts.

Dr. Kustin is Board certified in three countries and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology; a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Obstetrics & Gynecology; and a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists in London. He is also an active member of the American Society for Reproductive Medicine, and the American Association of Gynecological Laparoscopists.

Dr. Kustin consults with every couple to develop a comprehensive understanding of their problems, after appropriate investigation to document the medical problems associated with each case. He will always recommend the most cost effective therapy realizing the emotional and physical stresses associated with infertility.

The staff at the Washington Center for Reproductive Medicine cares about their patients very much. When embarking on high-tech treatment, such as in vitro fertilization and embryo transfer, the staff is very much aware that this is often the culmination of a long stressful and emotionally draining struggle with infertility. These patients need a caring and empathetic environment as they undergo these treatments.

Honesty, Integrity, and Excellence in every endeavor we undertake are paramount to our practice. Our commitment is to communicate openly with each patient, answer questions fully, and keep abreast of progress as it occurs.
